Like its predecessor Megalithic Symphony, AWOLNATION's sophomore effort Run is mega-ambitious in its scope. Though the group's sound largely is electronic, songwriter and producer Aaron Bruno is reminiscent of quirky art rocker Todd Rundgren in how he manages to stitch together such a vast array of ideas. The album boasts power pop ("Kookseverywhere!!!"), soulful folk-rock ("Headrest for My Soul"), club jams ("Dreamers") and audacious studio experimentation ("Run"). Some cuts, notably "Like People, Like Plastic," even manage to juggle several of these ideas simultaneously.
