Two years ago, Miami rapper Gunplay fomented his buzz as a swastika-tattooed wild card, the kind of dude that claims (on "Tell 'Em") "I'm in the crack in the bag/ I'm the flame on the blunt." His long-delayed Living Legend is a fun album on which he makes the most of his bow-swinging rhymes, barking delivery and Dirty South clichés, from the trap hammers of "Be Like Me" to the unrepentantly thugged-out "Blood on the Dope" and "White Bitch." The weed-hazed laptop beat of "Chain Smokin'" is a nice surprise, and his defense of past criminality on "Dark Dayz" adds much-needed context.
