Logic's debut album is largely about exorcising demons. "Growing Pains" catalogs his troubled childhood, then the beat shifts and he dreams he's part of a perfect family, before he wakes up and realizes "I'm back in hell." There are plenty of "Buried Alive" rhymes about struggling with fame and, oddly, a song about trying to kick a nicotine habit ("Nikki"). The production consists of laptop beats that swirl with emotions like a teenage coming-of-age movie. Logic offers few choruses to latch onto, but he's a good performer, and his overly melodramatic tale will pull at your heartstrings.
