Blood Sugar Sex Magik ushered in a new era for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as it established the band with the MTV audience. Although there's still plenty of funky bass and swagger to their lyrics ("Suck My Kiss," "Give It Away"), with songs such as "Breaking the Girl" and "Under the Bridge" the band proves there's more to them than what's inside their socks.
